We are ecstatic to get an opportunity to be in the final – Ellyse Perry
After dismantling Mumbai Indians in the preceding contest, Ellyse Perry played another heroic role in shaping up the fate of the contest with her gritty 66 that lifted RCB-W from the depths of despair to a warring pedestal. That instrumental knock from Pez allowed RCB-W to keep on fighting and eventually bag the ticket for the final in a nerve-wrecking affair.
Not only did Perry shine with the bat but she was also brilliant with the ball in her hands as she conceded only 29 runs while also clinching the important scalp of Yastika Bhatia. Winning the second consecutive Player of the Match, Pez opened up on the contest underlining the critical aspects that changed the game.
Perry said, “We are ecstatic to get an opportunity to be in the final. To defend a low total like that is awesome. The girls kept calm and pretty awesome performance from the spinners at the end. You gotta take the opportunity when it comes.”
She further added, “Nice for me the last couple of games, it has fallen my way. The way we stayed calm against such a good side is exceptional. The way the girls have come together after last season and we have really enjoyed each other's company on the field and off it.”
Pez concluded by saying, “Overall we hung in there, the girls kept contributing, the old adage of runs on the board in a big game holds true I suppose and it did tonight. Can't wait [for the final].”
