Wanindu Hasaranga has been one of the primary architects of RCB’s success in the ongoing edition of the IPL. Wanindu Hasaranga's exploits in the middle overs have been crucial to RCB's success in IPL 2022.

He is currently second in the race for the Purple Cap, just two adrift of Yuzvendra Chahal who has 23 in his tally at the moment. In the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries, the Lankan spinner spoke about the pressure of filling the shoes left behind by Yuzvendra Chahal and playing for team RCB.

“I am happy that I am the second-highest wicket-taker of the tournament," said Hasaranga. “I like to take challenges. It is very easy to handle pressure situations for me.”

“Last year in the second half, I played with Yuzi. We both are very good friends. All the time I would appreciate his bowling and he would appreciate mine," he added.

Hasaranga would also talk about the team, his teammates, and the support staff, “This is indeed one of the best franchises. The players are really friendly. We are as one family all the time.” Talking about the support staff, Hasaranga would say, “Sri would always support my bowling. The head coach and Mike Hesson would always support me too. They are very experienced coaches and that’s good for us.”

The islander has established himself as a mainstay in the RCB fold and continues to impress with every passing game. RCB will be up against the Punjab Kings for their following encounter on Friday, and Hasaranga will once again hold the key in the middle overs with his ability to take wickets at crucial junctures.
