Watch – Virat Kohli and other Indian cricket team members meet Sir Garfield Sobers
When it comes to iconic cricket names, Sir Garfield Sobers, dotingly known as Garry Sobers, rules the roost by a fair mile. He has dictated the sport with his own brand of glistening cricket and wherever he goes, a trail of positivity follows.
With the Indian cricket team currently in West Indies ahead of a bilateral series that will feature two Test matches, three ODIs and five T20Is, the team players had an opportunity to meet the legendary Sobers.
While practicing in Barbados for the upcoming first Test that starts on July 12th, head coach Rahul Dravid, former Indian captain Virat Kohli, current Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma and rising Indian opener, Shubman Gill met the West Indian legend.
BCCI uploaded a short clip where first Rahul Dravid introduced the young Shubman Gill to the legendary Sobers while Rohit Sharma shook hands with the Caribbean great before chiming in with a note of gratitude.
The video uploaded by BCCI witnessed Dravid initiating the conversation. The Indian coach introduced Gill to Sobers as "one of the most exciting players" while the latter acknowledged the interaction with a smile on his face.
