Watch: Ellyse Perry dominates England bowlers with a scintillating showdown of stroke play in women's Ashes Test

was a fine day out for the Australian Women as they were led by Ellyse Perry, who powered to a fine 99 on the opening day of the Women's Ashes Test, blazing the trail for the other Aussie batters to get themselves in and continue on a similar note.

Australia finished at 328/7 at Stumps on Day 1. Perry knitted together a slew of exquisite strokes, charging at the bowlers, swivelling around, pulling the ball extensively while also occasionally playing a handful of drives that would evoke awe from the fans.

Perry started her knock with a controlled drive against Sophie Ecclestone as the latter flighted the ball, seeking purchase from the track and soon, she brought up her fourth half-century in the whites by guiding a delivery from Kate Cross through the gap between the second slip and the gully.

Before falling to Filer, she produced another shot of elegance, simply opening the face of the blade to steer it past the fielder at short third. After all the class and command knitted together by Pez, she eventually offered a catch to Natalie Sciver-Brunt at gully to fall agonizingly short of a marvellous century.

You can watch Ellyse Perry's brilliant strokeplay in the video attached below.
