Can you ever keep your hands on your heart and liken a cricketer’s life to Hollywood? Would you have all the necessary material that you need to make another remake of Django Unchained? Or maybe blend it with a pint of the Reservoir Dogs? The magnitude is unparalleled here but only and only when you mix those movies, maybe you can come close to the unparalleled life story of Shane Keith Warne.

The man who revived the art of leg-spin from the very ruins went from strength to strength in his cricketing days and also became the first-ever captain to win an IPL. However, his life was full of twists and turns, that would glimmer and glow even in the murkiest of times.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore came together to forge a homage for the emperor of spin, the man who would haunt Mike Gatting more than his worst nightmares as his bamboozling turner would whizz past the stretched feet of the English batter and clatter onto his stumps, making the world stand in blatant admiration.

Former RCB captain, Virat Kohli said, “(He was a) childhood hero for many people including me. He was such an iconic personality and an iconic cricketer at the same time. Almost everyone, all the cricket fans knew about him.”

He continued, “You would try to copy his action some time or the other. That’s the kind of impact that he had on this game. He was an amazing human being as well. I had the chance to speak to him quite a bit off the field. He was always positive and none of his conversations were random. It was always constructive, something that we can learn from. He spoke very passionately about Test cricket especially, cricket in general.”

Kohli also said, “He loved the game. It was such a shock to everyone and we can only look back and smile at his cricketing career, his achievements, and life in general. He lived the way he wanted to live and he was probably the most confident personality that I have met. Actually, I am grateful that I got to know him a little more off the field.”
