Sri Lanka will be travelling to India to participate in a bilateral affair that will be featuring three T20Is and three ODIs that will be kickstarting from the 3rd of January. As the tour approaches, SLC has announced the Sri Lankan squads for the India series with Avishka Fernando making a comeback to the national side. The talented batter last played a series in the international arcade back in February post which he was sidelined for a long tenure with a major injury.

The call-up for Avishka comes alongside that of Sadeera Samawickrama as both managed to post significant displays in the recently concluded Lankan Premier League. In a surprising move, Samawickrama managed to get past the likes of an underperforming Dinesh Chandimal into the squad for the Indian series.

Two more exciting names for the Lankan squad that will be touring India are that of Nuwanidu Fernando and Nuwan Thusara with the call-ups coming for ODIs and T20Is respectively. Chamika Karunaratne will also be returning to the international fold owing to an impressive performance in the LPL. RCB leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has been named as the vice-captain of the squad for the T20Is while Kusal Mendis will be Dasun Shanaka’s deputy for the ODIs.

Squad: Dasun Shanaka (C), Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Kusal Mendis (VC for ODIs), Bhanuka Rajapaksa (only for T20Is), Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Wanindu Hasaranga (VC for T20Is), Ashen Bandara, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay (only for ODIs), Chamika Karunaratne, Dilshan Madushanka, Kasun Rajitha, Nuwanidu Fernando (only for ODIs), Dunith Wellalage, Pramod Madushan, Lahiru Kumara, Nuwan Thushara (only for T20Is).
