Vyshak Vijaykumar earns maiden India call-up as BCCI announce squad for South Africa T20I series
RCB pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar earned his maiden T20I call-up as BCCI named him in the India squad for the 4-match tour of South Africa slated to be played from 8th November.
Vyshak’s RCB pace partner Yash Dayal was named in the side as well, which will be led by Suryakumar Yadav. Mayank Yadav and Riyan Parag, the two youngsters who impressed heavily against Bangladesh, were sidelined with injuries.
Apart from Vyshak, Ramandeep Singh, who turned heads with a spectacular catch in the Emerging Asia Cup also earned his maiden call-up, following up on his impressive performances for KKR in the IPL.
Abhishek Sharma, who is currently plying his trade for India A in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup retained his place in the side while Tilak Varma got a call to the squad after conjuring impressive performances for India A as their captain. Jitesh Sharma was named as the back-up wicket-keeper.
Amidst the experienced names apart from Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel were picked while a flurry of young paces trying to prove a point were also named. The four-match T20I series will kickstart with the first match scheduled to happen in Kingsmead.
