Virat Kohli's important message for Team India ahead of their Bangladesh fixture
As India gear up for a mega clash against Bangladesh, they will be hoping to maintain their winning momentum and bolster their position at the top of the points table. They have had an excellent start to the tournament, comprehensively beating Australia, Afghanistan and Pakistan in their first three games.
While the Indian fans are eagerly awaiting the team's fourth win in a row, Virat Kohli had an important message for his team ahead of the all-important clash.
Talking to Star Sports ahead of the fixture, VK said, “There are no big teams in the World Cup. Whenever you start focusing only on bigger teams, an upset happens.”
Even though India have dominated Bangladesh in the antiquity of the World Cup, the year 2007 will serve a crucial reminder to the Men in Blue that you can never take the Tigers lightly.
Virat also heaped praises on Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan and at the same time urged India to practice caution against the spinner, stating, “Over the years, I've played a lot against him (Shakib). He's got amazing control. He's a very experienced bowler. He bowls very well with the new ball, knows how to deceive the batsman, and is also very economical.”
Going by the reports, though, Shakib may not be available for the Indian fixture as he is tending to a thigh injury, which will be a massive blow to Bangladesh's chances.
Virat also shed some light about how to navigate the crossroads of the Bangladeshi bowlers, adding, “You have to play your best against all these bowlers, and if you aren't able to, these bowlers are able to create pressure and increase the chances of getting you out."
