Virat Kohli shares update on injured Mohammed Shami
India suffered a huge blow during the third day of the Adelaide Test as Mohammed Shami was injured off a Pat Cummins delivery. Shami was hit on his bowling arm and looked in excruciating pain, which forced him off the field.
After the match, Virat Kohli shared an update on the bowler.
“No news on Shami, he’s going for a scan now. Was in a lot of pain, couldn’t even lift his arm. We’ll probably know in the evening what happens,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
India already are without Ishant Sharma who did not travel with the team due to a side strain suffered during the IPL.
It now remains to be seen if Shami will be available for the all-important Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
If he Shami fails to recover, that might make add to existing woes for the team. However, that will also open the door for two RCB pacers Mohammed Siraj and Navdeep Saini. Another RCB paceman Umesh Yadav is already a part of the XI and was clinical with his three wickets in the first innings of the Adelaide Test.
