Virat Kohli returns to ODIs as BCCI announce squad for England tour
Virat Kohli is all set to return to international cricket as BCCI announced the squad for the upcoming ODI series against England.
However, Virat’s availability will be subject to fitness clearance after he was ruled out of the recent ODI series against Afghanistan with a hamstring injury. It has been reported that Kohli will be undergoing his fitness assessment at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru over the coming week.
As India has already started prepping for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2027, they will be heading to England with a full-strength squad. Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah will be returning to international action after being rested for the England series.
Axar will be coming back to the ODI set-up after missing out the last three series against South Africa, New Zealand and Afghanistan. Bumrah will be returning to ODI action for the first time since the 2023 World Cup final due to workload management reasons.
Bumrah will be coming into the set-up in place of Prince Yadav who was handed his international debut against Afghanistan. Axar will be coming in place of Harsh Dubey who also made his international debut against Afghanistan in the recently concluded ODI series.
India will be playing three ODIs against England slated to be played in Birmingham on July 14th, Cardiff on July 16th and Lord’s on July 19th.
