Virat Kohli savoured a dream run in the recently concluded World Cup where he finished as the leading run-scorer in the tournament. Owing to his captivating display and his rock-solid stance, Virat took a major leap in the latest ICC ODI rankings as he found himself stationed in the third position while Shubman Gill extended his dream run at the top of the rankings.

Kohli smashed 765 runs in the World Cup that saw him closing down on his teammate, Shubman Gill, with a gap of 35 points between the two. Gill stayed rooted at the top spot with 826 points, edging past Babar Azam, who stayed in the second spot with 824 points.

Rohit Sharma leapt up to the fourth spot with 769 points after a swashbuckling display as he finished as the second-highest run scorer of the tournament. The dominion knitted together in the World Cup saw three of India’s most eminent batters rising up the ranks.

Kohli’s noteworthy exploits in the World Cup saw him smashing three centuries and six half-centuries, two of which were within touching distance of the magical triple figure. Rohit Sharma racked up 597 runs as he showcased exemplary hitting flair at the top of the innings.

The Indian transcendence resulted in Quinton de Kock dropping down to the fifth spot while Kiwi all-rounder, Daryl Mitchell rose to the sixth spot with 552 runs. The hero of the grand finale, Travis Head climbed up by 28 spots to clinch the 15th position in ODI rankings.

In the bowling echelons, three of India’s bowlers remain firmly nestled in the top ten as Mohammed Siraj continued his run in the third position followed by Jasprit Bumrah in the fourth while Kuldeep Yadav took a fall by a solitary spot to remain nestled in the sixth.
