Video – Smriti Mandhana and Richa Ghosh illuminate Southampton with scintillating partnership
An RCB connection once again lit up England in its most flamboyant fashion as Richa Ghosh and Smriti Mandhana came together in a stand of defiance in Southampton. In England’s premier 100-ball contest, Mandhana and Richa put up a show of dominance for Manchester as they were prevalent over their opponents, Brave.
Mandhana started the innings on a high, and kept the wheels in motion for Manchester before Richa arrived in the center. The fall of Grace Scrivens paved the path for Ghosh to carve her dominance and the two RCB stars started smacking the ball out of shape.
The two added 83 runs for the second wicket from just 57 balls. Mandhana knitted together 46 off just 36 balls, rocking three fours and two sixes while Ghosh clobbered a 34-ball-54. Richa’s innings comprised five fours and three sixes.
Courtesy of the partnership between Smriti and Ghosh, Manchester posted 139/4. Their bowlers did a decent job of restricting Brave within just 112 to walk away with the bragging rights of the game.
