The Indian women's cricket team continued to call the shots in Lord's, dominating the proceedings at the end of Day 2 in the one-off Test against England. There have been a flurry of impressive performances, steadily moving toward keeping their clean record in England alive.

However, one name that eclipsed the others yesterday the Home of Cricket was Kranti Gaud. She did indeed carve an absolute revolution, leaving the hosts completely baffled. Kranti became the first woman to have her name carved onto the Lord’s honour board after claiming a historical fifer against England in the first innings.

Kranti struck at the end of the first day to dismiss the English legend, Tammy Beaumont. She doubled her tally in quick succession to dismiss Maia Bouchier. Alice Capsey was the next to fall against Gaud's sharp bowling.

The England captain’s resistance ended against Kranti Gaud, who eventually completed her rout with the crucial wicket of Lauren Bell. Gaud concluded with her figures of 17-7-37-5 and England were left reeling as India bundled out the hosts for 170, securing a lead of 269 runs.

Gaud’s exhilarating spell was a testimony to her growing brilliance. Not only did she bowl a frugal spell but she left the opposition in a lot of discomfort with her pinpoint accuracy. Apart from the history that she created yesterday, Gaud also offered a new weapon to the Indian bowling arsenal as a new dawn ushers in.
