Very few batters in world cricket can read line and length quicker than DK: Sachin Tendulkar
In an unprecedented resurgence, Dinesh Karthik has been in terrific form in the latest edition of the tournament as he has bashed the bowlers left and right, making him a probable contender for the upcoming T20 World Cup squad.
He has managed to rack up scores of 32*, 14*, 44*, 7*, and 34 in the latest campaign and all of these figures have come at a mind-boggling strike rate of 218.66. Coming from a desperate last three years where runs were very difficult to come by for him, this has been a breath of fresh air for the hard-hitting wicket-keeping batter as he continues to wreck bowlers with his phenomenal might.
It always feels very special when a virtuoso of the art that you are practicing pours compliments on you, acknowledging the brilliant job that you have been doing. When that virtuoso is Sachin Tendulkar and you are just a man who is trying to get back to the limelight with the willow in your hand, believe me, it feels a very different level of special.
Taking up the role of the finisher at the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Karthik has proven to be an absolute menace against the bowlers. Sachin Tendulkar was rejoiced to see an old warhorse leading the attack for the Challengers.
Lauding Karthik’s valiant efforts, Sachin quoted, “RCB have a dangerous player in the lower-order in Dinesh Karthik. Karthik has the ability to play 360 degrees, be it against a spinner or a fast bowler. When he started attacking, he literally did it from the first ball. And it doesn't look as if he had made up his mind early that 'I will hit this ball towards midwicket or above covers'. He looks at the ball and hits it; and the speed at which he is picking the line and length, very few batters in world cricket can read line and length quicker than DK.”
With such heavy words coming out from the Little Master himself, it is quite obvious that Dinesh Karthik will be happy beyond measure. He took to Twitter and expressed his emotions as Sachin’s words will be going a long way to motivate DK in performing better than ever.
That feeling of being on cloud 9 when the G.O.A.T of cricket appreciates you ❤️☺️ https://t.co/EsoaWIafVV
