Despite a wobble in the second T20I, India managed to craft a strong counterblast in the series finale as they romped over the Sri Lankans to secure the series 2-1. It was a fine show of domination from Suryakumar Yadav who led the charge for the Men in Blue while the bowlers put in a staunch shift to mop up the Lankan tail without a fuss.

Hardik Pandya was phenomenal as India’s captain as the Men in Blue held onto their nerves and showed grit, gumption and a flurry of genius to walk away with the bragging rights of the series. Having kept his unbeaten streak as a captain intact, Hardik spoke at the post match presser about the standout individuals for India in the series.

Talking at the post-match presser, Hardik Pandya opened up on how good Suryakumar Yadav was, stating, “He has been surprising everyone and making everyone know that batting is very easy. If I am a bowler, I will be disheartened with the shots he plays. He has played blinders after blinders. Special mention to Rahul Tripathi as well, who played so well with the ball moving. Don't need to tell much to Sky, whenever he finds a situation when he is not sure, we try to find a solution. More often than not he has been doing it all on his own.”

He then shifted his focus to Axar Patel, highlighting how sublime he has been in the series as India’s number 7, stating, “Very proud of Axar. This series will give him a lot of confidence. It adds a lot of value to the team as well. My motto is to back my players.”

Hardik concluded by talking about India’s overall outing, stating, “These are the best India cricketers in the T20 format, and there is no place in international cricket of doubting. The way we played, I was very happy. The way we competed, it was heartening to see. On our day, we will pull it back and keep winning.”
