The RCB win was right up there – Dinesh Karthik picks his all-time favourite moments
Dinesh Karthik has been an instrumental presence in the RCB ranks. From being one of their deadliest strikers to serving as batting coach and mentor, DK’s presence has been incredible for Royal Challengers.
Speaking on the teaser for the RCB Podcast, Dinesh Karthik opened up about his favourite moments from his long-standing connection with the sport. He also highlighted the emotions behind choosing those incredible moments that will stay with him lifelong.
In a conversation with Mayanti Langer, DK said, “Somebody asked me a question, what was the highlight of your cricketing career? Obviously, the World Cup that I was part of, but the RCB win was right up there. Simply because of the fact that we waited 18 years and you almost felt a sense of yearning and a giving back sense of feeling when we did win.”
Explaining the feelings behind the moments, DK said, “The first one was tough for the fact that they have been through thick and thin, constantly supporting us. Now and to win a tournament like that is never easy. And it just felt ecstatic, ethereal. I'm very happy and proud to have been a part of that moment. It was great to see Virat Kohli in tears, the greatness of AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle in the house, just being there with us.”
