The Mechanism of Dream11 IPL 2020 Mid-season Transfer Window
This is going to be the second Indian Premier League season where the mid-season transfers will be available. The transfer window opens when all teams have completed a minimum of seven matches and three days have passed since then.
How does it work?
- The transfer window will be open for five days.
- The player who makes a move from his parent team to another in this transfer window will be a part of that team just for the remainder of the Dream11 IPL 2020.
- Post-IPL 2020 the transferred player will have to return back to his parent team.
- The decision to let a player move will rest on the parent team.
- A player who completes a transfer can’t play against his parent side.
- Players salary aspects will be left for the franchises to decide.
Who all are eligible for mid-season transfers?
Any player who has played two or lesser matches in this particular season will be eligible for the transfer move. This time around even the capped and overseas players can be traded in this 5-day window.
Transfer window can become an opportunity for teams to reinforce their squads for the remaining matches. It is still unclear from the IPL Governing Council whether the players who are ruled out due to injuries can be replaced by traded players.
