The bowling attack is very good – Sourav Ganguly points out India’s primary strength for upcoming Asia Cup

India announced a strong squad for their Asia Cup 2023 campaign and with Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer coming back to the team, it is deemed that the squad is one of the strongest that the Men in Blue has announced in recent times.

Former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly, was very happy with the side and heaped praises on the Indian squad. He talked at length about the Indian cricket team that will be eyeing a grandstand finish in the Asia Cup.

Sourav said, “It’s a very strong team. Bumrah is back, which makes the team even stronger. The bowling attack is very good – Shami, Bumrah, Siraj. You can’t get a better fast bowling attack. And the spin, Jadeja. Top batters. India is a fantastic side, who just have to turn up and play good, determined cricket during the Asia Cup and the World Cup.”

India’s bowling department comprises the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah who will be aided by the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav, who was in fine touch against West Indies in the recently concluded series.

After a woeful display in the Asia Cup 2022, India will be hoping to pull off a decent show in 2023 after the preceding year’s campaign left the Men in Blue with a very bitter taste in their mouth. More importantly this year’s tournament will be played in the 50-over format which would make it an even more intriguing contest for the teams.
