The BCCI also announces that Jaipur will be hosting the forthcoming edition of Women’s T20 Challenge. The Women’s T20 Challenge will get bigger this time around.

In the course of the Indian Premier League (IPL) playoff stage, a total of seven matches will be played in Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.

“As part of its ongoing commitment to grow the women’s game, BCCI are pleased to announce the 2020 Women’s T20 Challenge. The tournament which started in 2018 and was a huge success, further garnered all the right eyeballs in the year to follow.” BCCI quoted as saying

A new team will be introduced in this edition of Women’s T20 Challenge

This time around there will be one massive introduction to the Women's T20 Challenge. Four teams will be involved in the competition instead of three.

“The 2019 games, comprising three teams were played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur during the IPL Playoff and Finals week. The tournament was played with great intensity which saw the winner of 2019 WT20 Challenge being decided over the last ball of the match.” – BCCI quoted as saying

It all started in 2018 when the BCCI invested in the idea of having women’s exhibition match during the 2018 season as a result, a one-off match was played in Mumbai. Supernovas and Trailblazers were founding teams of this Women’s T20 Challenge.

The 2020 edition will be no different, as another team will be introduced to the Women’s T20 Challenge and make it a four-team league. This ground-breaking move surely promotes the vision of #ItsHerGameToo.
