Team India eye whitewash on the road as England look to salvage pride
It might be a dead rubber at Nottinghamshire in the context of the series, as Team India will be taking the yard against the English hosts in the shortest format of the game for the final time in the series. But, for the Men in Blue, no contest is an inconsequential stramash with the T20 World cup on the horizon, and every game is an opportunity to sharpen their knives. For England, the final game of the series will be a chance to salvage a bit of pride after two thoroughly dominant displays by Team India.
Everything has so far gone downhill with the English forces as their batters have struggled to put up a show. Their bowlers have been decent in patches but they have failed to continue with the momentum that has led to the opportunities for the Indians to seize the day.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been at the peak of his element with unprecedented drift in the recent games and the kind of scalps that he has been bagging, they are deemed as a fast bowler’s paradise. With the kind of imperious form that Bhuvi is in at the moment, India may be bringing in a couple of changes to check their compatibility with India’s fast bowling ace. Team India may be looking ahead for a handful of experiments as the job has been done already and there is World T20 around the corner. The likes of Deepak Hooda, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi, Umran Malik Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel all wait on the sidelines to impress.
Add to that, the incentive of claiming a clean sweep on the road against England, and Sunday's clash has plenty to offer.
