T Dilip heaps praise on Virat Kohli’s intensity after India’s terrific catching against Bangladesh
During India’s massive 280-run at Chepauk against Bangladesh, there were a handful of incredible catches taken. In Bangladesh’s first innings, when Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah were busy toppling timbre, it was Mohammed Siraj who produced the first edge off Najmul Hossain Shanto and it was a sharp take by Virat Kohli at second slip.
In a video released by BCCI, India’s fielding coach, T Dilip dissected the grab by the Indian fielders, one of which was the aforementioned take of Virat. Analysing frame by frame, T Dilip said, “If you go really deep into that video, he was in the line of the wicket-keeper standing in front. It is what we spoke about, especially in the sub-continent conditions, even in practice sessions.”
He further said, “With Virat Kohli what you get is, there is not much difference in the way he practices and he plays the game. Because the intensity with which he wants to go in the match, he always replicates in the practice session.”
India will be back to the yard again in three days’ time as they are slated to play the second Test from 27th of this month. BCCI has retained the same squad for the upcoming contest which will be played in Kanpur.
