Syed Mushtaq Ali: Karnataka to kick start campaign against J&K on January 10
Defending champions Karnataka will begin their title defence against Jammu and Kashmir on January 10. According to the groups announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Karnataka have been placed in Elite Group A alongside Railways, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. The teams have been classified into six groups comprising five elite groups and one plate division group.
As per the norm, the teams are supposed to assemble in their designated cities on January 2 and undergo a mandatory six-day quarantine. All the concerned authorities will be tested for COVID-19 thrice during the quarantine period.
“The teams are required to assemble in their respective host cities on or before January 2, 2021 and will be needed to undergo Covid-19 testing procedures and quarantine in accordance with the state regulatory authorities, ” The BCCI secretary, Jay Shah was quoted as saying in a statement.
The competition will be held across six cities. Bengaluru, Chennai, Indore, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Vadodara will host the league phase of the tournament from January 10 to 19. The focus will shift to Ahmedabad where the knockouts are slated to be held from January 26-31.

- Jan 14 vs Tripura
- Jan 16: vs Railways
- Jan 18: vs Uttar Pradesh
