RCB and Sunrisers Hyderabad have been fierce competitors over the years. Whether it be Virat’s six to take RCB over the line when David Warner stepped over the boundary, or the bitter ending for RCB in the heartbreaking loss in the 2016 final, the two teams have put on a spectacle every time they have taken the field against each other. We look at 8 statistics and trivia from the rivalry between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

227 - RCB hold the record for the highest-ever team total against the Sunrisers in IPL history. RCB scored 227/6 playing at home against SRH in 2016 and went on to win the game by 45 runs.

157 - The record for the highest-ever partnership against SRH is held by AB De Villiers and Virat Kohli. The duo put on 157 runs for the second wicket in the same game in which RCB went on to score 227.

144 and 57 - Not only does an RCB duo hold the record for the highest partnership against SRH, but 144 put on by Gurkeerat Singh and Shimron Hetmyer in the 2019 season is also the highest 4th wicket partnership against the Sunrisers. 

Additionally, the 57 run partnership between AB De Villiers and Mitchell Starc in the home game against SRH in 2014, and as many put together by Mandeep Singh and Colin De Grandhomme in Hyderabad in 2018 stand joint-highest for the 6th wicket against the Sunrisers.

5.58 - Muttiah Muralitharan’s economy rate of 5.58 playing for RCB is the best for any bowler against the Sunrisers Hyderabad(Minimum 12 overs). Playing for RCB between 2013 and 2014, Murali bowled 12 miserly overs which cost the team only 67 runs and yielded 2 wickets.

4 - Virat Kohli has scored 4 half-centuries against the Sunrisers Hyderabad which is the joint-most for any batsman against the team from Hyderabad. He shares the record with MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Shane Watson, and Ajinkya Rahane.

504 - Virat Kohli’s tally of 504 against SRH is the second-best for any batsman against SRH. Virat falls only 19 short of Watson who has scored 523 against the Sunrisers in 3 innings more than Virat.

6/19 - Adam Zampa’s figures of 6/19 registered in the 2016 season are the best for an Australian bowler in the IPL, and came against RCB’s opponents for the day, SRH.

422 - The highest match aggregate runs in a game at the Chinnaswamy was registered in the game between the two teams facing off against each other today - RCB and SRH. Batting first, RCB scored a mammoth 218,a total which the Sunrisers fell short of by 14 runs.
