Sparks set to fly at the Wankhede as two Kings collide

Both sides have savoured their fair shares of joys and sorrows even though the Super Kings have suffered a bit more than the men in red.

Punjab is currently stationed in the eighth position of the points table, just one win superior of the Super Kings while for Jadeja and his men, it has only been two wins from the 7 games that they have played, one of their worst records in an IPL campaign.

Chennai will be coming into this contest on the back of a thrilling win against the struggling Mumbai Indians as MS Dhoni belted out a signature finishing masterclass to deny the Mumbai Indians their closest shy at their opening win.

Punjab, on the contrary, was handed a humbling defeat at the hands of an insuperable Delhi Capitals who put on a resonating display with the ball in their arms to get the Punjab hitters reeling in agony.

This will be an interesting clash considering the fact that Chennai has so far struggled to get their resources to contribute in unison and inconsistency has been a major factor that has bothered the Yellow Army.

For the men in red, however, their strategy of using eight fine strikers of the ball to counter their opposition’s bowling supremacy has worked in spasmodic bursts while their bowlers have struggled to get wickets at regular intervals.

Venue Watch:

Wankhede’s surface is probably the best gift that a batter can get, given the highly conducive ilk of the surface and a free flow of runs with the boundaries being shorter than the ones that the rest of the grounds hosting the tournament has so far starred. The team batting second will relish a bigger bout of supremacy, considering the onset of dew that makes it very hard for the spinners to grip the ball.
