Sophie Devine at 300: New Zealand star dazzles with a half-century vs South Africa

Sophie Devine completed an incredible feat in yesterday’s Women's World Cup game against South Africa as she stepped onto the field for her 300th international game for New Zealand. She became the 7th woman to rack up this incredible milestone, moving forward with a career that now spans 19 years.
The hard-hitting all-rounder, who represents RCB in the WPL, has been a sensation across all formats, as this was her 154th ODI for the White Ferns. Apart from her exploits in the longer format of the game, she has been an instrumental force in New Zealand's T20I side, having scored 3431 runs and taken 119 scalps in 146 matches.
The 36-year-old superstar enjoyed an excellent outing with the bat in her 300th game, smashing her second consecutive half-century in the ongoing World Cup. Following up on her 111 against Australia, Devine's 85 proved to be a crucial knock that helped New Zealand out of the doldrums to post 231, although that wasn't enough to restrict South Africa.
With the New Zealand skipper having decided to call time on her ODI career at the end of the ongoing World Cup, the dynamic right-hander will hope to pile on the runs and put on a show in her limited matches as part of the 50-over format.
