Some conversations change the way you see things – PV Sindhu on Virat Kohli’s golden advice
PV Sindhu clinched the Japan Open last week, winning her first major trophy in over two years. Despite the journey being riddled with thorns and nightmares, Sindhu scaled it all.
These odysseys aren’t easy and even the hardest need all the help and motivation when they’re down in the dumps.
For Sindhu, one such source of inspiration was none other than Virat Kohli. As she said in the RCB Leaders’ Meet, Kohli was always one she looked up to. After the triumph at Japan Open, Sindhu took to X to express her gratitude to Kohli for his words of wisdom.
Her post read, “One thing I'll always be grateful for is Virat bhai. I reached out to him at one of the lowest points of my career. Injuries were piling up, the results weren't coming, and I just needed someone who understood. He replied within minutes, and we met the very next day."
Sindhu’s post further read, “What we spoke about will always stay between us. But I'll always be grateful that when I needed someone, he was there. He didn't say much, but every word stayed with Datta and me. Some conversations change the way you see things. That was one of them."
Sindhu had 24 months of a raging battle behind the scenes. Fighting a stress fracture and an early exit from the 2024 Paris Olympics, she went into her rehab. Snubbing all the challenges that came her way, she returned to the fore and conquered another peak in her glorious journey.
