Shane Warne picks his all-time IPL XI
Shane Warne has been with Rajasthan Royals (RR) ever since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008. The first-ever IPL winning captain played in the first four seasons of IPL and later hung up his cricketing boots. Post-retirement, Warne held the roles of mentor and brand ambassador with the Rajasthan based franchise.
Due to the global outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, cricketers are spending time with their families and are also seen interacting with the fans through live streams on their social media profiles. And at a time when the fate of IPL 2020 remains uncertain, Warne named his all-time IPL XI with only Indian players.
On an Instagram live stream on Tuesday, Warne admitted that he selected the team based on the performances between 2008 and 2011. “This team is based on the four years that I played the IPL, from 2008 to 2011,” he said.

Talking about the team, Warne said: “Yusuf scored one of the best hundreds against Mumbai Indians and he also played a great knock in the IPL final in 2008.” He also called Mahendra Singh Dhoni a ‘genius’ and a brilliant ‘finisher’.
Shane Warne was expected to join the Royals as the brand ambassador this season but the preparations had to be deferred because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The legendary leggie hopes that the tournament would take place later in the year.
