Sanjay Bangar speaks out on the young guns in the RCB squad
Sanjay Bangar has been an eminent man on the sidelines of the Royal Challengers Bangalore and has always been a promoter of youth. He advocated heavily for Mohammed Siraj and Devdutt Padikkal previously who went onto grab the headlines after a phenomenal couple of seasons with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
As RCB started with their practice sessions on Thursday evening, the head coach had a few words about the young guns of the team. There were quite a few videos that showcased Bangar conversing separately with the likes of Luvnith Sisodia and Aneeshwar Gautam.
“It’s like the start of a relationship because we have seen these players in action but at that time, we didn’t have a relationship with them,” said RCB’s head coach.
“We were seeing them as neutral observers, simply as players. But now they are a part of our team and the relationship suddenly changes. You are getting a first-hand view of the players,” he further added.
“You see them play, you observe, you see their set-ups, how they are moving, what sort of positions they are getting. Even they are eager to know. There are inhibitions within the players’ mind. You need to cut them short because there is very little time in assembling, getting things going, seeing them in action. I was just having a bit of chat around that,” he explained.
The practice session went from strength to strength as the available players squeezed their heart out, unleashing the very best in them. Even though there is a long way to go, so many smiles on the opening day definitely signals a boatload of good things to follow.
