Sachin Tendulkar praises RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj
The man who has navigated through a maze of treacherous pastures across the globe and has come out in blazing colours, unscathed, Sachin Tendulkar is a vital cog in the fabric of Indian cricket - from toting it almost single-handedly once upon a time to becoming a close admirer of the boiling young blood that has graced the nation’s game.
Time and again, he has highlighted youngsters who are deemed to be the pennant-bearer of Indian cricketing excellence in the offing and the latest addition to this glittering list is none other than Royal Challengers Bangalore express bowler, Mohammed Siraj.
The youngster has impressed heavily since his introduction to international cricket, managing to post scintillating figures Down Under and England. Even in the slow pitches of India, he gave a glimpse of the storm that he can invoke as he brought the Kiwi batting order down to its knees.
In an interview with Boria Majumder on ‘Backstage with Boria’, Sachin Tendulkar raved a flurry of praises for Siraj. When asked about the youngster, he said, “There is spring in his legs and that is what I like to see. His run-up, and you can see that he is full of energy. He is one of those bowlers, when you look at him, you cannot figure out if it's the first over of the day or the last over of the day because he is coming at you all the time and that is what I like.”
Sachin continued, “He is a proper fast bowler and his body language is so positive. He is a fast learner. In fact, when he played last year in Australia, as he made his debut in Melbourne, it never appeared as if he was playing his first match. I felt that this guy has been around for a while. That was a maturity he showed. He built up his spells so beautifully there and from thereon he has not looked back. Every time, I have seen, there is something new that he has introduced.”
