Rishabh Pant’s ascendancy in Test cricket continues as he moves up in latest ICC Test Men’s batters’ rankings

There were big movements in the top 10 list of the ICC Test rankings on the back of India's recent Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. Rishabh Pant’s return to Test cricket after his career-threatening accident saw him take another leap towards glory as he overtook Virat Kohli in the Test rankings.

His knocks of 20 and 99 in the first match against New Zealand propelled him by three places as he grabbed the sixth position of the rankings.

Three Indian batters were inside the top ten which featured Rishabh Pant at sixth, Yashasvi Jaiswal at fourth and Virat Kohli at eighth. In the last three Tests that have been played by Jaiswal, he has registered scores of 56, 72, 51 and 35 amongst the notable ones.

Virat Kohli also scored a brilliant 70 in the second innings against New Zealand at Bengaluru, helping India fight a battle against overwhelming odds. Joe Root continued to lead the rankings at the top in Test cricket. Here are the latest ICC Test men’s rankings.
