RCB Class of 22: A look at the fast-bowling components for IPL 15

If you would take a quick look at the pace-attack of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, without any hesitation one would say that it is undoubtedly one of the best in the upcoming edition of the tournament. From the Indian finesse of Mohammed Siraj, the attack spans to the fiery Australians and an Englishman too.

Let us quickly take a glance at the formidable fast bowling unit that Royal Challengers Bangalore will be pinning their hopes on, for the upcoming season.

1.    Josh Hazlewood

The face of the Australian pace-bowling trident, Josh Hazlewood will be their main man to take the fight to the batters. He breathes fire at 145 plus clicks on a regular basis and has an effective bouncer considering his staggering height and a deafening toe-crusher in his arsenal. He is already a proven performer in the death overs and can be the perfect key to RCB’s death overs bowling. 86 T20 wickets and an economy rate of 7.38 makes him an unplayable moniker in the ranks.

2.    Harshal Patel

The only Indian bowler to claim the highest number of wickets in a single IPL season, Harshal Patel was bought back to the squad by the Challengers to bolster their lower middle-order and also their pace attack. His effective variation of pace and stringent adherence to line and length helps him to impose a tightened choke on the batters. He has an ever-arcing inclination towards scalps, may it be in the death overs or in the middle, if you need a partnership rattled, Harshal Patel will always be your go-to man.

3.    Chama Milind

An exciting Indian sensation in fast bowling, 27-year-old Chama Milind is a destructive moniker in the ranks of domestic cricket. He has been a lot more successful in the shorter versions of the game with his pace doing the talking. He has an eye for bowling consistently in the line of the stumps that allows minimal room for the batters to free their arms.

4.    Jason Behrendorff

Another Australian expressman, Jason Behrendorff is a name to watch out for. He can be really quick and conjure speeds of 145 plus clicks without any hassle whatsoever. He hits the deck pretty hard and can unleash a battery of short balls, aiming for the ribs of the batters. He is also a wicket-taker and is more focused on adding to his scalps than trying to keep things tight. A couple of overs in the middle can bring down crucial partnerships.

5.    Siddharth Kaul

Siddharth Kaul is an experienced customer in the IPL and has also managed to rack up 58 wickets in his kitty. However, he is not too frequently in the front line. The last two seasons saw him doing a pretty decent job with the Sunrisers Hyderabad and his inclusion in the RCB pace attack will be heralding the onset of a new era.

6.    David Willey

Willey is a tested all-rounder and brings a good deal of medium pace to the mix. He is more about decent line and length and is pretty miserly when it comes to leaking runs. Even though he is not the one for scalps, he can still be a fine pick for bowling in the middle-overs where a strangulated run-flow will bring about wonders in the death overs.
