In less than a week’s time, the IPL will be upon us and social media is abuzz with fans anticipating a whole season of high-octane cricketing action. For RCB, the return to home conditions after a long wait has further fuelled fans’ desire to cheer the team on at the Chinnaswamy Stadium for their first home match against the Mumbai Indians on April 2nd.

With the IPL returning to the caravan format, former RCB captain Virat Kohli expressed what it means to return to the Chinnaswamy and play in front of a packed Bengaluru crowd.

Talking on the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries, Virat said, “It’s one of the few things that I am really really excited about. This is probably the first time since the pandemic season, in fact, the last time I came so early for a season was in 2017, when I was kind of going through rehab and I had to take care of my shoulder.”

He further added, “I haven’t got into Bangalore like 9 or 10 days before a game. However, this time things are different and the only reason I have come this early is to be a part of the first practice session which is going to be open to all our fans. It is a very special occasion because I know how much the fans want to see us back in the stadium and the Chinnaswamy will be lit up again. The crowd will be buzzing and so will the players.”

Virat shared his thoughts on the upcoming RCB Unbox event and said, “It’s a very special occasion and a very special announcement on the day and yeah, it will definitely be a day to remember.”
