RCB Bold Diaries: Luke Williams on the signing of Georgia Wareham, Kate Cross and Ekta Bisht

It was an eventful outing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore think-tank at the Women’s Premier League 2024 Auction as they roped in a handful of stars ahead of the WPL 2024 season. In the first half of the auction, RCB signed Georgia Wareham (INR 40L), Kate Cross (INR 30L) and experienced Indian spinner Ekta Bisht (INR 60L), which left them with four slots to fill at a later stage.

On an episode of Bold Diaries, RCB-W head coach Luke Williams spoke at length about the aforementioned picks and what they bring to the table.

Williams said, “Really excited to have these three ladies join our squad for all three of them have played international cricket. They are super experienced. The crowds and everything, overall, the experience at international level is so valuable. Really excited to have all three, a couple of spinners and a pace bowler.”

Shedding some light on Wareham and Cross being picked up at base price, Luke said, “You never know how an auction is going to pan out. But we are certainly happy with that. Georgia Wareham is a multi-faceted cricketer. An amazing leg-spinner and offers some really good batting at the end of the innings, and is also one of the best fielders in the world.”

He continued, “Kate Cross is experienced with the new ball but in different phases of the game. I am super excited that they have come to RCB.”
