RCB Bold Diaries: Coach Luke Williams shares some fun confab with RCB-W players
The latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries was filled with fun as RCB Women’s head coach, Luke Williams, attempted to get to know the players on a personal level over a cup of coffee.
Luke’s first topic on the agenda was to get to know their cricketing journey and to that, star all-rounder Shreyanka Patil said, “I started playing cricket at the age of 8 or 9. My dad used to run an academy here in Bengaluru. I just used to go around as another kid to play around with all the boys and then my dad asked me whether I really need to take up the sport or not. I said that I would like to give it a try.”
Disha Kasat too shared her story, stating, “Growing up I would just play for the love of the game. When I was studying in the 12th standard, my teacher told me to choose between cricket and CA.”
And you obviously know the answer, as put in Disha’s words, “Sir, I choose cricket.”
Leg-spinner Asha Sobhana was next in line, thanking her coach, as she said, “It’s always been my mentor and coach, Aaron George Thomas. Since I was 15, he used to take care of my cricket.”
Talking about the best part of playing for RCB, Asha said, “To play with a couple of the greatest players of the game, namely Ellyse Perry and Smriti Mandhana. That is a blessing that I am always going to remember forever.”
