Rajat Patidar smacks whirlwind century to grab Ranji Trophy headlines
Ranji Trophy got a taste of Rajat Patidar as RCB’s starry-eyed number three carved a rescue act to bail out Madhya Pradesh from the sheer jaws of defeat. Reduced to 182/3 with Venkatesh Iyer (28), Sagar Solanki (32) and Harpreet Singh (44) back in the hut, Rajat continued his act of defiance.
Toying with the Haryana bowlers, Rajat continued to call the shots and showed no relent whatsoever. Against a star-studded bowling line-up of Haryana featuring the likes of Aman Kumar, former RCB quick, Harshal Patel and ace leg-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rajat rocked Indore with his own brand of belligerence.
By the time he was done with his carnage, MP had already totted up 308/4, posting a target of 177 runs from the remaining overs of the day. With 13 fours and seven sixes, Patidar put together the fastest century for Madhy Pradesh in the history of Ranji Trophy.
