RCB has savoured a handful of incredible batting performances so far in IPL 2026. The impact of Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli has been palpable as the duo continues to drive the scoring charts for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the ongoing season.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of RCB’s clash against DC in Delhi, Dinesh Karthik opened up on the joint influence of Kohli and Patidar in the ongoing IPL. He also lauded how Patidar’s captaincy has been on point for RCB in the current iteration of the tournament.
Lauding Patidar’s batting flair, Karthik said, “Rajat Patidar is constantly upping his standards. He is calm, thoughtful, and you can see that in the way he bats.”
Underpinning his captaincy brilliance, Karthik stated, “He has the respect in the room and handles his bowlers well. Under pressure, he stays composed and makes good decisions.”
Explaining Kohli’s brilliance, DK added, “He reassesses his game every year and comes back with a clear plan. To keep up with the pace of this format and still perform consistently is quite remarkable.”
Karthik also opened up on the evolving scenario of IPL, saying, “The IPL is constantly raising the bar. Players need to keep reinventing themselves to keep up with how fast the game is moving.”
Karthik concluded by talking about how data has been an important game-changer for RCB, stating, “We use data to understand situations better and try to use it to our advantage. It’s something we are consciously working on as a group.”
