Rajasthan Royals return to action again as mercurial Lucknow Super Giants arrive in the former’s den

In a hard-hitting battle of two prolific sides in IPL 2023, the Rajasthan Royals and the Lucknow Super Giants will be clashing in a midweek encounter as the Sawai Mansingh Stadium gears up for the epic battle.

The Royals were in terrific touch in their last game as they outclassed the reigning champions in a thriller in their preceding fixture. A 26-ball-56 from Shimron Hetmyer provided a grandstand finish to what seemed like a lost cause for the Royals at one point in time. He finished the charge that was started by skipper  Sanju Samson, who blasted 60 from 32 balls.

The Super Giants have a lot of work to do as they slumped down in a woeful fashion in their last game, losing to the Punjab Kings in a modest scoring encounter with wickets falling aplenty for both sides. KL Rahul played a captain’s knock, scoring 74 off 56 while Kyle Mayers had a decent start, scoring 29 off 23. Despite Ravi Bishnoi and Yudhir Singh sharing four wickets between them, Punjab managed to seal the bragging rights in the dying embers.

This is going to be an important clash for both sides as the Royals would be desperate to keep the momentum in their favour and in a season where the Giants have drifted in and out of form, they would be hoping to locate some consistency in their sails.
