Rahul Dravid provides the latest update on Shubman Gill
Amidst all the worries around Shubman Gill potentially missing India’s World Cup opening clash against Australia, head coach Rahul Dravid has provided an update, hinting that the star opener isn’t yet entirely ruled out.
Gill reportedly tested positive for dengue on October 6th, raising question marks on his availability for selection. India do have other options in Ishan Kishan or even promoting KL Rahul to the top, but Gill’s form makes him a huge miss if he is deemed unfit.
However, talking at a press conference on Friday, Rahul Dravid said, “He’s certainly feeling better today. The medical team is monitoring on a daily basis. We have 36 hours, we’ll see what decision they take. He’s certainly feeling better today.”
The Indian coach further added, “Medical team hasn’t ruled him out as yet. We’ll keep monitoring him on a day to day basis. We’ll see how he feels the day after tomorrow.”
