R Ashwin chimes in with a brilliant tweet to help Ajaz Patel get his account verified

Ravichandran Ashwin has always been one of the more extroverted guys in cricket and his love for his fellow sportsmen has been on display in the loudest of colours.

In one such event of showing love and affection, his act of sportsmanship helped New Zealand spinner, Ajaz Patel gets a blue tick on his Twitter account.

Ajaz Patel ran riot at Wankhede with a superior brand of cricket that saw him claiming ten wickets in the first innings and another four in the second.

Ravichandran Ashwin was seen applauding Ajaz when he was being lauded by his teammates for his phenomenal performance.

Being an off-spinner, he realized the kind of throes that Ajaz had to go through to rack up this scintillating feat.

Soon after the Test, Ashwin took to Twitter and posted, “Dear @verified, a ten-wicket bag in an innings definitely deserves to be verified here! @AjazP." After this post, within just seven hours, Ajaz Patel’s account got the blue tick.

Ajaz said in a video uploaded by Ashwin, “Been a very special outing, dream to play at Wankhede and to be able to come here and do something like that is very special.”

He also said how he used to love playing in the maidans of Mumbai. He was heard quoting, "Early on India it was about playing cricket in maidan just because you enjoy it with a rubber ball or a heavy tennis ball. In New Zealand, there was a little more structure added to it. Indians are cricket mad so in our family, we still played in the backyard every hour.”
