Prema Rawat replaces injured Shreyanka Patil in Women's T20 World Cup 2026 squad
In a blow to the Indian team, Shreyanka Patil has been ruled out of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup after sustaining an ankle ligament injury while playing against the Netherlands in Leeds. The unfortunate incident happened in the sixth over of the Netherlands innings when Patil bowled her first over.
RCB all-rounder Prema Rawat has been called up to the national side as an injury replacement for Shreyanka. Rawat earns her maiden call-up to the national team after a successful outing in the Rising Stars Women’s Asia Cup. She claimed eight wickets in the tournament at an economy rate of 4.27.
Rawat was also a part of the India-A squad scheduled to face England in a six-match white-ball series starting from tomorrow. However, with the call-up to the national side, Rawat will now be joining Harmanpreet Kaur and company ahead of their challenge against South Africa.
