Pratika Rawal returns as BCCI announce squad for India’s one-off Test against Australia

Pratika Rawal is all set to return to international cricket in a month as BCCI announced the Indian squad for the upcoming Test against Australia at WACA, followed by the ACC Rising Star Asia Cup. Rawal last played international cricket back in the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup when she fractured her ankle in India’s last group stage fixture against Bangladesh.

Apart from Rawal, there are six other Test debutants in the squad, which will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur. Vaishnavi Sharma’s excellent run against Sri Lanka in December also earned her a call-up for the prestigious Test where India will be taking on the mighty Aussies Down Under.

With the kind of pace and bounce that the Australian surfaces usually offer, India has kept their fast-bowling department well powered with Renuka Singh, Kranti Gaud, Amanjot Kaur and Sayali Satgare. Harmanpreet Kaur will be leading the side while Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy.

India will be facing Australia in three T20Is and three ODIs between February 15th and March 1st. This will be followed by the one-off Test which will be played from March 6th to 9th in Perth.

India’s U19 squad for the ACC Rising Star Asia Cup will be led by RCB-allrounder, Radha Yadav. Apart from Radha, there are a few interesting names that have been doing fairly well in recent times, featuring the likes of Humairaa Kaazi, Prema Rawat, Tanuja Kanwer and Nandani Sharma.
