Our strength is bowling – Rajat Patidar ahead of RCB vs GT
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru are all set to rumble in the Qualifier 1 as they meet Gujarat Titans in Dharamsala. Both sides have clashed twice in the tournament. RCB racked up a win in the opener while Gujarat put up a strong show with the ball in the return-leg battle to walk away with the bragging rights.
Ahead of the first qualifier, RCB captain, Rajat Patidar opened up on the mindset of the two teams and made it very clear that it might boil down to a battle of nerves. He also highlighted the team’s key strength ahead of this crucial clash which will witness the victor sail hammer and tongs to the grand finale.
Shedding light on how composure might play a crucial role in the game, Patidar said, “Both teams have done really well throughout the season. On the given day, whichever team executes their plans better, plays better cricket and stays calmer under pressure, I think that team will win the match. It’s a big stage, Qualifier 1. We must hold our nerves and be confident in whatever we are doing.”
Highlighting RCB’s strength, Patidar added, “Our strength is bowling and the way we bowl in the powerplay will be very crucial. Everyone in the team knows that we are not here to defend, we are here with the mindset of attacking and we will look for early wickets. That is what Bhuvi, Hazlewood and Rasikh have been doing and we hope to continue in the same process.”
