Nostalgia Cam: Sourabh Tiwary seals it with a six

When Chris Gayle is in his elements, any target looks possible. It was his second year for Royal Challengers Bangalore and he was wreaking havoc on the bowlers. On 17th April 2012, Chasing Pune’s 182 Chinnaswamy witnessed another Chris Gayle special when he went into full beast-mode against leg-break bowler, Rahul Sharma, smashing 5 sixes in a single over.

Chris Gayle's flamboyant innings swung the match back in the favour of the hosts. However, once he departed in the 16thover, Bangalore found themselves in trouble again. With 55 needed off last 4 overs, AB de Villiers started opening up. He had a decent partnership with Sourabh Tiwary bringing the equation down to 21 off 6 balls.

Ashish Nehra who had had a decent night so far came to bowl the last over. AB played the final over scoring 17 off the first 4 balls, but couldn't clear the penultimate delivery and had to settle for a single. The whole of Bengaluru were on the edge of their seats as Saurabh Tiwary took strike. 3 runs required to win and 2 for a super over. The stakes could not be higher!

The match had seen a Gayle special and then an ABD classic, yet it had all come down to the last ball and Sourabh Tiwary was at the centre of it all.

SIX! Sourabh Tiwary did it for RCB as it started to pour in Bengaluru but they did not care! An incredible ending to an incredible chase, proving how in the end it all comes down to a team-effort despite jaw-dropping individual heroics.
