Nostalgia Cam: Chahal’s memorable hundred for RCB
In the 12-year-old history of IPL, very few players have enjoyed as envious an unbreakable bond as Yuzvendra Chahal enjoys with the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
He might have started his career with the Mumbai Indians but it was with the Royal Challengers Bangalore where he became a star. The club gave him a cult following, eventually opening the doors of Team India for him. Chahal too has been kind in return, producing one after other match-winning performances for the club.
All of Chahal’s wickets have come while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Last year was special for Yuzi. RCB hosted SRH in their last match of the season at home. SRH were desperately looking for a win to make it to the playoffs. RCB won the toss and decided to field first. The SRH openers gave them a brisk start early on in the innings but wickets fell at regular intervals.
Chahal now into the attack, bowled a slow one, wide outside off, tempting the batsman to take the aerial route. Yusuf Pathan sensing his opportunity to attack and went big but didn’t get the trajectory right as he sliced it into the safe hands of Umesh Yadav. A personal milestone for Yuzi and an unforgettable moment for the RCB family!
