It was Ellyse Perry’s night in Delhi in match 19 of WPL 2024 as she sent Mumbai Indians crashing into a vortex of uncertainties carving RCB-W’s way into the playoffs.

A reckoning display with the ball in her hands saw her becoming the first player in WPL to pick a six-wicket haul, while her marathon knock with the bat ensured that RCB-W crossed the finish line despite losing early wickets.

She won the Player of the Match for her all-round display and talking at the post-match presentation, Perry highlighted the run-up to the special moment while also heaping praises on her compatriots for this crucial victory against Mumbai Indians.

Perry said, “Nice to come out and play a great game with the girls, just really enjoyable. I really enjoyed bowling and did some work with coaches back home in the last 3 years. I just managed to find a good length and it did a little bit off the wicket.”

She concluded by saying, “The games come thick and fast and I loved that partnership with Richa Ghosh and it was great to spend some time out there in the middle. We are getting used to conditions in Delhi and looking forward to play some good cricket here.”
