My strength is hitting that hard length consistently – Josh Hazlewood

Josh Hazlewood returned in his most intimidating avatar for RCB with a Player of the Match performance against LSG, registering figures of 1/20 from his four overs. However, even at the start of the tournament, there were many doubts about his participation due to a long-standing injury.

However, Hazlewood put all those doubts to rest, returning to RCB and getting back into form quickly. Talking in the pre-match presser ahead of RCB’s game against LSG, Hazlewood opened up on his recovery and his blueprint coming into the tournament.

Hoff said, “It’s been really pleasing to be back and contributing again. You learn a lot from time away due to injury, especially about respecting the recovery process, and the focus was on coming back fully ready and performing at this level.”

Highlighting his strength, Hoff added, “My strength is hitting that hard length consistently and making it difficult for batters to score. In T20 cricket, it’s about executing that under pressure and adapting when needed.”

He also shed some light on the ever-evolving nature of the game, stating, “With the way T20 cricket is going, the expectations on batters are very high. If you can build a few quiet deliveries, the pressure can shift quickly and create opportunities.”

The Aussie pace ace concluded with a word about RCB’s collective bowling attack, adding, “We’ve got a really balanced attack, with everyone bringing something different. It’s great to learn from each other, and that’s been a big strength for us as a unit.”
