It was a magical display from Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was just playing his second T20I as India rode high on his imperious domination to level the series at Florida. Jaiswal’s unbeaten 84 was one of the primary reasons for India to hammer away to victory alongside another match-winning knock from Shubman Gill.

Awarded the Player of the Match, Jaiswal opened up on his swashbuckling knock, talking at length about how he received unwavering support and how he plotted his innings that announced his arrival to the world in the shortest format of the game.

Talking at the post-match presentation, Jaiswal said, “It's not easy, I am happy to go out there and express myself. I would like to thank the support staff and Hardik bhai, they've shown faith. That shows so much impact on my mind.”

He then shifted his focus to how he was plotting the innings, adding, “I try to play how the team needs and how I can express myself towards the plan. I try to score quickly, how many shots I can play in the powerplay and put my team in a nice shape. Reading the wicket, reading the situation, how I can take the game deep everything is important. My intent is always to score runs."

Jaiswal also shed some light about his opposition and how the partnership with Gill helped him to express himself, adding, “I have played a lot of balls against them (Holder and McCoy in the IPL), helped me to read them. It (partnership with Gill) was really amazing the way we were talking and the way we were taking singles and understanding each other. He batted really well.”

He concluded by talking about the partnership with Gill, stating, “The way he was rotating the strike, it's really important to build the partnership. I want to thank everyone for coming here and supporting us in this heat. Thank you so much.”
