Mike Hesson returns home to New Zealand amid lockdown
Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson has finally returned to his home country New Zealand. Hesson was stranded in India for over a month due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hesson, who arrived in India early March for the 13th edition of the IPL, had to stay back as both India and New Zealand imposed a lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus.
After reaching New Zealand, Mike tweeted, "What a wonderful sight after spending over a day on a bus to get to Mumbai airport. The staff on @FlyAirNZ were simply outstanding on our return to New Zealand."

The former New Zealand coach did not forget to thank the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the New Zealand embassy in India, New Zealand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and New Zealand PM Jacinda Ardern.
While India continues to be under lockdown, New Zealand has started to ease down the measures beginning Tuesday (28th April).
Although, Hesson was stranded in India for over a month with no outdoor activity, he had managed to keep the fans informed about his routine and how he was strategizing for the IPL through regular updates on social media and RCB's official channels.
The Indian Premier League, which was scheduled to kick off from 29th March has been postponed indefinitely.
