Located in the heart of the city, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium has been the omphalos for all the avid cricket fans in the city. Popularly known as the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), the stadium was named as a tribute to M.Chinnaswamy - a former BCCI president. GR Vishwanath, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, and Venkatesh Prasad - KSCA has elicited some of the best cricketers. 

From Venkatesh Prasad's fitting reply to Aamer Sohail to MS Dhoni's last-ball heroics against Bangladesh, M.Chinnaswamy Stadium has hosted innumerable iconic matches.

In 1974, the iconic stadium hosted its first-ever international game (Test) - between India and West Indies.

The M.Chinnaswamy Stadium has an aggregate of 24,502 runs in the Indian Premier League across the years. 

However, the highest aggregate (2856) of runs was registered in the 2016 season with Virat Kohli at the forefront; essaying 973 runs at an average of 81.08.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium holds the record of hosting the most number of matches in the Indian Premier League - with 81 matches, KSCA stands first in the list followed by Eden Gardens with 77 matches. 

Virat Kohli - The Bengaluru connect 

2795 runs - Virat Kohli has been the most successful batsman at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium across all formats. The skipper, Virat Kohli has amassed 2795 runs in 87 innings helped by 31 half-centuries and 4 tons. 

429 - The highest aggregate of runs scored in a single match at the M.Chinnaswamy in the T20 format

In 2011 Champions League T20, the Bengaluru crowd witnessed a run-fest. The Royal Challengers Bangalore squared off against South Australian Redbacks. Daniel Harris' century powered Redbacks to a mountainous total of 214 runs. Chasing a daunting target of 214 runs, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virat Kohli and Arun Karthik starred in RCB's 2-wicket win over the South Australian Redbacks.  The 429-run aggregate is the highest ever in a single T20 match at this venue.
