Kuldeep’s a guy with special skillset – Ajit Agarkar

There was a massive surprise as India announced their squad for the upcoming ODI series against Australia, with Ravichandran Ashwin making his way back to the Indian cricket team. With this move coming just ahead of the World Cup, the fans may believe that India are looking to add him to the World Cup squad just in the nick of time.

However, one name that has been doing the rounds in the Indian cricket circuit is that of Kuldeep Yadav, who was sensational against West Indies and also in the Asia Cup.

India recently had an excellent run in the Asia Cup 2023, where they lifted the trophy after Mohammed Siraj razed through the opposition while tons from Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill saw them carve out the team’s path to the final earlier in the tournament. Kuldeep’s brilliant bowling saw India making Pakistan and Sri Lankan batting unit bite the dust pretty mercilessly.

Labelling him as the trump card for the upcoming World Cup, Ajit Agarkar had a crucial message for one of India’s best spinners on current form. Talking about Kuldeep in a presser, Agarkar said, “I have spent time with him in the IPL. He’s a guy with special skillset. Every guy needs to be shown faith and the Indian team management has done that and the results are there. He’s a trump card (for us). Most teams are finding him a challenge. All of us are excited for what lies ahead.”

Kuldeep, though, won’t be a part of the first two ODIs against Australia as he’s been rested, but the spinner will return to the mix for the final match ahead of their World Cup campaign.
